Early Inspiration

Growing up in a medical family, Jayesh had the spirit of service ingrained in him since a young age.

Academic Excellence

After topping his school, he entered the prestigious Seth G. S. Medical College in 1987 for his undergraduate MBBS education. Among the best students of his batch, he bagged a number of awards in competitive examinations including:

• Dr. A. M. Gokhale Prize (1991)
• Dr. Soharab A. E. Hakim Prize (1991)
• Sir Nasarwanji Choksi Memorial Prize (1992)

He was proud to serve as the General Secretary of Seth G.S. Medical College for the year 1992.

Professional Training

Dr. Jayesh then joined the Ophthalmology department of the renowned King Edward Memorial Hospital in 1993 as a postgraduate student.
He passed his M.S. examination in 1996, topping his batch, and was awarded the Dr. V.H. Mazumdar Prize.

Rising Through Adversity

Dr. Jayesh’s professional education was adversely impacted by his father’s critical illnesses from 1992 onwards. Undaunted by personal challenges, he doubled his efforts to fill the large shoes of his father. He joined him in practice as soon as he graduated.

He was later appointed as Consultant and Head of Department at Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Hospital, Parel, where he mentored postgraduate doctors for the next 7 years.

Community Service

Dr. Jayesh has always been deeply involved in charitable medical work. Following the footsteps of his illustrious father,

• He was an integral part of rural eye camps in Kachchh from 1992 until the 2001 earthquake
• He has been associated with the Jain Health Centre, Dadar since the last 25 years from 1996 onwards
• He was also part of the founding team of Laxmiben Gala Eye Hospital, Vile Parle

Expanding the Legacy

Dr. Jayesh has expanded the premises of the Nisar Eye Hospital, as well as the facilities and the range of treatments that are available at the hospital. All eye conditions from cataract to glaucoma to retina are treated under one roof. Dr. Jayesh is up to date with the latest technology in eye care around the world. The unique selling point of the hospital is that patients feel at home, a place where they can leave their fears and worries outside and look positively to a successful outcome.
