Established 1969 | Over 50 Years of Trusted Eye Care

A Legacy in Vision
Established in 1969, Nisar Eye Hospital has a rich legacy of eye care of more than 50 years.
Conveniently located in the historic neighbourhood of Gamdevi, the hospital is just a stone’s throw from the heritage building of Mani Bhavan, which is world famous by its association with Mahatma Gandhi.
Humble Beginnings
It was founded by Dr. Raichand Nisar as a polyclinic and an in-patient hospital. You may be surprised to know that 50 years ago, cataract surgery patients were admitted for almost a week! It sounds strange in today’s fast world where a patient gets admitted, operated and discharged, all within 3 hours — or the time you would spend in a cinema theatre.
Growing with Time
The legacy of service has been carried forward by Dr. Jayesh Raichand Nisar since 1996. The hospital has evolved and expanded, and newer machines have been added with the latest technology.
A Modern, Comfortable Space
Spread on the ground floor of Modi Bhavan over a total area of over 2000 square feet, the hospital has a pleasing and comfortable décor.
The hospital offers comprehensive services, including:
- Cataract
- Glaucoma
- LASIK
- Paediatric eye care
- Medical retina
What Hasn’t Changed
While the instruments and the surgery time have changed over the last 50 years, what remains constant is the unshakeable commitment to serve — and to make you smile
After all, the hospital motto is:
BE POSITIVE, SEE POSITIVE!
