FLOATERS

Why am I seeing black spots floating when I move my eyes?

These are called floaters and are of different shapes and sizes. They appear and disappear with eye movements.

Why do they occur?

Usually, they occur when the vitreous jelly in front of the retina becomes liquid. However, in some cases, they may indicate bleeding from the retina.

Should I be worried?

It is best to have a retinal check up after dilating your pupil, especially if you see a curtain blocking part of your vision or if you are diabetic or having high minus
numbers.
